BY GAVROSH LEVONJA Even the hunger strike that Albanians could carry out today, when they put the lives and future of their children at risk. Even the madmen, in order to go mad, take advice from foreigners about what they should do in their own country! Albania should move out from the overextended doorway of establishing the law and return to the normal road of setting the processes in motion. Moreover, the conflict made worse even a union of the popular forces caught in the trap of the most ridiculous and saddest divisions. These people have done, and can do, such things that the government which came with an outsider to solve a country in their work and those who are fighting the battle themselves on the front lines and for everyone. Disappointed by the promises of others and by the internal clashes, so nauseating to an honest mind, their patience in the search for a future and a different present is running out. But are all of them in the opposition with a single unconstitutional and unjustified will, or is this a much broader problem of their integration into the political process? It happened that the whole of yesterday spoke about the demonstration announced for the 26th, somewhat closing and even encouraging a politicism that has been left as the burden of our politics. However much pressure was also exerted over the so-called anti-national action and it was judged with such labels, just as rightly pressure can be exerted against it to defend it as an idea and not only with the weapons of speech, a rally is more than that. Undoubtedly, with the unpredictable situation the country has entered, and with what people are suffering, Friday’s decisions should have been clear and on the political table. All the more so when the institution of the people’s government itself has a right to clearly define the roles of all political actors. For today a demonstration is expected, which could turn not only into a confrontation with the police, but also into a test of the support that the ordinary person gives to the opposition circles. Leaving aside the slogans of ideological propaganda and of an endless transition, the ordinary Albanian is faced with two questions: should he allow, at any cost, a return to the past, or should he insist on entering democratic normality through a forced cooperation between political forces? This is the challenge of cooperation, not of hatred.
